September White Sale
Submitted by Sam White on Mon, 08/30/2010 - 13:20.
This September, 2010, all seven of my full-length novels will be on sale! Been thinking about reading one (or all of them) but thought the price was a little steep? Now, you can get them for $3.95 each!
Go to Amazon and type in "Samuel Ben White" and you'll see that all 7 of my full-length novels are on sale on the Kindle platform. Don't have a Kindle? You can read Kindle books on iPad, iPhone, Android, Blackberry, PC or Mac!
The seven titles available are as follows (and you can read even more about them at garisonfitch.com):
Spam Filters

Who does “spam” work on? Now, when I say “spam” in this context, I mean “unwanted emails” not “unwanted meat.” My email provider has a spam filter, so I don’t see a lot of the junk email sent my way, but occasionally I’ll see that note saying, “We blocked 198 unwanted emails today!” and I’ll go see what they blocked, just out of morbid curiosity.
On-Line Shopping

I like to shop on-line. I don’t necessarily buy on-line, but I do shop there occasionally. I can compare prices from a myriad of stores at the touch of a button, all while in the comfort of my own chair (in my own home, if I wish). And, in so doing, I can see amazing product after product that reminds me that we—as Americans—are both very inventive and kinda stupid.
"All the Time in Our World" in a SINGLE Volume!
Submitted by Sam White on Wed, 07/21/2010 - 13:57.
I am (finally) going to release "All the Time in Our World" as a single volume. Before doing so, I wanted to alert my readers here because, if you have already read "All the Time in the World" in it's four parts, you don't need to get this edition as there will be no difference. (As much as my pocketbook wouldn't mind the double-dipping, I don't want to stiff you, the people who make writing worthwhile.)
More Books Coming "Soon"
Submitted by Sam White on Wed, 07/14/2010 - 14:54.
I wrote the following in response to a reader who had read (and liked!) “The Nice Guy” and wanted to know when the next Bat Garrett book would be out. He also wanted to know about the next Edward and Marianne story, so I answered that, too.
Vampires Beware!
Submitted by Sam White on Wed, 06/30/2010 - 16:15.
Last week, a woman in Fruita, Colorado (official motto: “No, we’re not that frozen drink at Taco Bell”), was in a one car wreck caused by, she told authorities, a vampire. According to the woman—who didn’t want her identity published, for reasons I’m sure we can all understand—she was just driving home when suddenly there was a vampire, right in the middle of the road.
Happy Meals

The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) has announced they’re going to sue to get McDonald’s to stop putting toys in their Happy Meals ©. They say this encourages kids to eat said meals (well, duh!) and that’s the reason many of our first graders are so overweight that our elementary schools are having to widen the doorways to the classroom.
Grinches Only Need Apply

We need to cut taxes, but we also need to cut spending. No one wants to cut spending, though, because that’s going to make someone mad.
We need a grinch.
I am all for cutting taxes. John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan both showed that if you cut taxes, it actually leads to prosperity—both in the government and private sectors. George W. Bush cut taxes and managed to sustain growth even while fighting two wars, but it took its toll.
Family Reunions
Submitted by Sam White on Thu, 06/03/2010 - 13:34.
On Memorial Weekend, I went to the annual White Family Reunion in Bowie, Texas, held for all the descendants and cousins of the late Ben and Josie White. There were several cousins there, some second cousins, as well as an uncle and an aunt. There were lots of little kids running around, and a few big kids as well.
Cute and Cuddly

Remember that cute little kitten that used to appear in a mock-up of the old MGM logo and mew at the end of shows produced by Mary Tyler Moore? It occurs to me that that cat probably died twenty years ago.
