Let’s continue building our faith pyramid. The first layer—the foundation for all subsequent layers—is “God is”. The second layer, is “He has spoken”. These two layers lead into the third layer, “There is truth.” And I talked about how truth is not just a concept, but the person of Jesus Christ. This leads us into our fourth layer:

God Loves the World

This is eloquently expressed in what is probably the best-known of all Scripture verses:

This summer, I’m building a pyramid to explain our faith. I think this is important because so many of us—while we have faith—have difficulty articulating it. Or even saying what’s important.

Here on the screen we have a picture of our Dumas windmills. Our faith has the capability of impacting the world around us and I’d like to think the faith of our congregation will be acted out in such a way as to impact our city.

This summer, we are building a pyramid. It’s the pyramid of our faith.

Why? Because we can look around us and see that the world is in need of help. We can look in our churches and see that they are in need of some help, too.

We can’t change the whole world from here in Dumas, and we have very little (to no) effect on other churches. But we can start having some positive impact by being the congregation we are supposed to be.

So we’re building a pyramid.

Since January 1 of this year, 32 copies of my novels have been sold to users of Amazon's Kindle--including 3 just this month.
